On lower-end PCs, you may want to use lower settings for better performance.

These settings are best for performance purposes, but they’re also the ideal settings if you are running a lower-end PC that just meets the minimum specs for Diablo 4. As with high graphics settings, make sure to experiment with what works for your specific setup.

Diablo 4 ray tracing explained

Just like in every other game, ray tracing in Diablo 4 aims to improve the overall quality of shadows and reflections, driving a bit toward realism. However, using ray tracing will significantly reduce the overall performance of the game and you will get subsequently lesser FPS than before.

If you have a beefy GPU like an RTX 4090 that can ensure 200+ FPS at 4K resolution, feel free to experiment with ray tracing in Diablo 4. But if you have a mid-range card, you’ll likely get massive performance hits whenever you enable ray tracing on high settings.

Minimum System Requirements for ray tracing

  • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 2060 with DLSS Super Resolution or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT or Intel Arc A770
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 90 GB available space (SSD)

Recommended System Requirements for ray tracing

  • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Graphics Card: Any 8 GB Nvidia GeForce RTX card compatible with Direct X 12, AMD RDNA 2 or Intel Arc 7 Graphics
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 90 GB available space (SSD)

System requirements

Lastly, if you’re still not finding joy with performance in Diablo 4, you may want to double check if you meet the system requirements for the game:

Minimum System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K or AMD FX-8350
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB or AMD Radeon R9 280 or Intel Arc A380
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 90 GB available space (SSD)

Recommended System Requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 (64 bit)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4670K or AMD R3-1300X
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 470 8GB or Intel Arc A380
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 90 GB available space (SSD)

Once you’ve got your settings sorted for Season 5, you should be ready to take on the new endgame mode Infernal Hordes and the new Hellbreach dungeons. The season is also bringing 50 new Uniques and Legendary Aspects, so make sure your PC is in its best shape to start the grind.
