Denton ISD has a lot of resources for students like me who want to receive higher education, as long as you know who to talk to and who can actually provide you help. Despite some hurdles I faced, I managed to find teachers, friends, and programs who supported me and my dream to be one of the first in my family to go to college. As diversity increases in the district and city, I hope to see the district develop and accomadate to properly support staff and students since they are the ones who can truly change the future.

Honestly, I feel like Lewisville High school is the perfect place for someone who really wants to have a chance at getting into college and genuinely cares for their education. It’s full of people who have passion for different things and also has what it takes to be the top of anything they do. If you want guidance and/or experience in a certain field that you want to improve in and have a career, then I would say that Lewisville High school is a good place to spend 4 years in.

The AP teachers are very helpful and truly care about the kids and their jobs. However, on level teachers tend to not work very hard and let the students do whatever. In general, everyone is fairly well-educated and usually go onto college or into the work force. The counselors are amazing.

I enjoyed the people for the most part, and the friendships I made. I believe the education system they have can be better in regards to who is teaching, and what is being taught.

My experience with the Denton Independent School district has been overall average. Some of the facility are great, others cold use a chill-pill, but overall i would allow my future child to have an education with this school district.

I would like more security for the schools. I am a Senior and i have heard and been in many lock downs where we have gotten threats. I have also notice how easy it is to get into schools.

So far I've really enjoyed being apart of John H Guyer high school in Denton ISD. The teachers here are amazing and really made me feel cared for and seen. After starting school here I started becoming more involved and asking more questions in class because of the amazing learning environment. Here I really feel like the teachers care about the quality of your education and the depth of your understanding of the content. While the school may be lacking a few teachers due to many teachers leaving their jobs, the ones that are still here and the ones that I've interacted with have all been nothing but kind and helpful. I also enjoy the classes here and am very greatful to have a chance to be enrolled in a real estate class where I even have the opportunity to graduate with a real estate license. I also appreciate the fact that we get half days for teacher work days, which is beneficial for both the teachers and students.

Best... lots of AP and dual credit opportunities offered. Worst... culture.. it was not uncommon to experience overt racism especially while President Trump was in office... this is a red state, in a very red school district.. diversity and inclusion isn't something that is supported in my 6A high school. We are a football powerhouse and lot of money is spent supporting that program. It was also not uncommon to experience racism at the feeder middle school I attended.

There was not very good management of class sizes or regulations. The environment often was hostile and uncomfortable. Fights would happen daily, students would be subjected to heavy bullying, students had strong clique attitudes- that’s only speaking on student life. School lunches were nearly inedible, not having the basic nutritional requirements. Teachers were biased and strict, assigning heavy loads of work without much explanation. Programs such as Theatre, Orchestra, and Band all relied on favoritism from the teacher. There was no management of student conduct, and I was sexually assaulted at age 14 by another student who had been stalking and grooming me. There was no action taken on the teacher’s or counselor’s parts, no matter how far we attempted to take it. There is not good management of staff or student behavior. Most teachers didn’t want to teach, I had a teacher junior year who simply left two months before the school year ended. It was not a good experience.

My best experience was high school sports. My coaches weren’t only my coaches but became some of the best people and friends I’ve ever met. They made me a better athlete and human being. I don’t know what I would’ve done without them. There was nothing about high school that I hated other than my Pre -Cal class junior year LOL. Other than that,I loved high school and wish I could be in high school forever

The School faculty do not seem to care about the student body. It seem like everyone isn't it just for a paycheck. They are not supportive they're not encouraging they don't motivate the kids and it's very sad because some kids actually want to be there to learn. Instead of doing things to uplift them it seems like they do things to tear them down.

Throughout my personal experience & the lifestyle that I was living in at the time, I would proudly say without a doubt that I was able to experience more good moments than worst. The best moment was being able to finally graduate & finish high school. The worst moment was having to move on from high school & all the memories that I made with many teachers & colleagues equally that helped me tremendously throughout my time in Denton ISD & helped shape the person that I have became so far.

Denton ISD is a very diverse and inclusive district. They provide countless opportunities to prepare for life after high school. I would like to see, at Guyer High School in particular, more events such as pep rallies and carnivals to evoke school spirit and student participation.

I did like that we had a diverse group of students without discrimination. Yet, I don’t like the fact each student inside a classroom of thirty kids are on their own. Mostly because when you have so many students in one setting it’s hard to get individual one on one help.

I like that it is all encompassing of races, genders, etc. I do wish that communication would update and not go with the grain - make independent decisions regarding whether children and their parents should risk their lives on bad weather days instead of the district making last minute decisions. It would also be nice if teachers would give a heads up if supplies or attire was needed a week or two in advance instead of a weekend before an event.

Denton ISD has been the district I’ve grown up in. Throughout the years I’ve had the opportunity to watch it progress, flourish, and continue to inspire numerous amount of students. The courses they offer are unlimited. They truly care about their students, starting from their teachers to their office staff. It is a welcoming place and wonderful environment for children of all ages.

Denton ISD is a very welcoming school district. I moved from Iowa in 2020 to Denton TX and this was the most well put together school I’ve ever attended. They have security on lock down in Denton ISD. They actually care about giving students a great education and opportunity to experience something in their future career at Lagrone Academy. This is by far the best school, and school district I have ever been in.

I enjoyed my experience with the Denton Independent School district and believe that it's a great school district designed to help students succeed.
I met some outstanding teachers who took their job seriously and had a true passion for their careers.
My favorite part about the school district is that they offer studies at the ATC which focuses on career-based studies. This feature is great to help students figure out a career path that they wish to continue to pursue after finishing school.

Denton ISD has served me well by providing excellent teachers and staff that have guided me throughout my schooling career. I have had many mentors who helped me realize my passion for learning. But the real crown jewel for me has been the opportunity to attend the LaGrone Academy with a principal who loves and cares for his students individually and wants the best for all of us. I do hope that more schools just like LaGrone will be created and staffed with teachers who want to be there and make students want to be there. That is what makes my school different is the environment the staff have created. Here at LaGrone people want to come and learn.
