How to Make Cheddar Scones

These scones are super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients; all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Using a pastry cutter, cut cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in sharp cheddar cheese and parsley. Add the wet ingredients, buttermilk and water, and stir just until a dough forms Place the dough on a floured surface and pat it into a square. Cut the dough into squares. Cut the squares into triangle shapes. Place scones on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. In a separate small bowl, whisk together an egg and a tablespoon of water. Brush the egg wash over the tops of the scones and bake until golden brown.
