Setting up runner tracking

The Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run offers tracking to friends and family as athletes cross timing equipment on the course and finish line.

Family and friends can track the progress of athletes this year with either email notifications or push notifications on their web browser.

No app download is required and there is no set-up required by the runner.

Part A: Adding an athlete to be tracked

  1. Go to http://results.xacte.com/?mid=58
  2. Click on the TRACKERS tab (upper left hand corner).
  3. Enter the name of the athlete you would like to track and click on their name.
  4. Congratulations! You’ve added them to the list of people you are tracking. You can track multiple people by typing in additional names.

Part B (Sunday): Following tracked athletes on the course on race day with push notifications on your web browser (“Map Track”).

  1. On Sunday, go to http://results.xacte.com/?mid=58
  2. Click on the four parallel bars on the upper left hand corner and click on “Map Track”.
  3. You will then receive push notifications on your web browser as your tracked athletes pass the various splits along the course.

The Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run awards is $33,650 in prize money every year.

There will be a $1,000 course record bonus paid to any male, female, or non-binary runner ​who betters the existing course records.

All prize money winners must have a current USATF membership before prize money is awarded (except wheelchair winners).

In accordance with USATF rules, the official time for awarding prize money to male and female runners will be the gun time (official start), not the net time (when you cross the starting line) for each runner.

The official time for awarding prize money to non-binary runners will be the net time for each runner.

All prize money winners must report to the stage area to complete verification forms before acceptance.

​The Awards Ceremony will begin tentatively at 9:00 a.m.

  • 1st Place Male, Femaleand Non-Binary: $3,000 and award
  • 2nd Place Male, Femaleand Non-Binary: $1,500 and award
  • 3rd Place Male, Femaleand Non-Binary: $1,000 and award
  • 4th Place Male, Femaleand Non-Binary: $750 and award
  • 5th Place Male, Femaleand Non-Binary: $500 and award

All Open division awards are given on race day.

You must provide proof of citizenship. First place winners will receive their award during the ceremony. Second through fifth place winners will receive their awards in the mail.

In accordance with USATF rules, the official time for awarding prize money will be the gun time (official start), not the net time (when you cross the starting line) for each runner.

Prize winners will need to provide their current USATF membership numbers within 30 days after the race to receive their prize money.

Checks will be issued to prize winners within 30 days after the verification forms have been submitted. A USATF number is not required for wheelchair participants*.

*Push-rim wheelchair competitors only. Participants using hand-crank bicycles are not permitted in this event or eligible for prizes.

Independence Cup

Independence Cup

The Independence Cup is an Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run tradition, engraved with the names of previous years’ winners. It will be on display during the Health & Wellness Expo and during the Awards presentation on race day. The cup is on permanent display inside the Independence Blue Cross headquarters at 1901 Market Street in Philadelphia, PA.

The first five men and the first five women in the following age divisions receive awards:

  • 16 and under
  • 17 to 20
  • 21 to 24
  • 25 to 29
  • 30 to 34
  • 35 to 39
  • 40 to 44
  • 45 to 49
  • 50 to 54
  • 55 to 59
  • 60 to 64
  • 65 to 69
  • 70 to 74
  • 75 to 79
  • 80 and over

Age group awards are not presented on race day and will be mailed all winners.

Richard Lagocki Memorial Awards

Richard Lagocki Memorial Awards

The Richard Lagocki Memorial Awards are presented to the first Philadelphia residents+ in the Open Male, Open Female, Open Male Wheelchair, and Open Female Wheelchair Divisions.

Prize money in the amount of $250 is awarded to each winner.
